Westchester Senior High School is an urban public senior high school serving students from grades 9 through 12 under a traditional single track school calendar. Westchester's campus is located near the Los Angeles International Airport, specifically in West Manchester Avenue, Los Angeles, California. Westchester High School utilizes letter grades of A, B, C, D, and Fail. A cumulative grade point average is computed using a 4.0+scale and includes all coursework completed in grades 9 through the first semester of the 12th grade, including physical education. Advance Placement and Honors courses are weighted. If a course is repeated, the grades are averaged.
Student Activities
Westchester High School students contribute to student literary publications such as the school newspaper, The Comet, school literary magazine, school yearbook; students actively participate in student government, leadership, and student clubs, and participate in drama productions. Opportunities are available for participation in interscholastic sports. Volunteering in the community is also encouraged.
