Warner Avenue Elementary School is a public primary school located in Holmby Avenue, Los Angeles, California. Established in 1927, Warner serves pre-kindergarten through 5th grade students under a traditional single track school calendar. The school is part of Local District 3 of the Los Angeles Unified School District. As of school year 2005-06, Warner Ave has 662 students enrolled, majority of which are White. Only 4% of the school's students are participating in free or reduced-price lunch program. Of the school's 7% English language learners, almost one thirds of them use Korean as their Home Language, while others speak Spanish , Farsi, Hebrew, and many other dialects. At each grade level, there is an English Language Development program. Students are immersed in English vocabulary in order to provide maximum academic support. Warner's mascot is Warner Wildcat. Dress Code

• No indoor headwear (bandanas, berets, stocking caps, etc.). Headwear may be worn outdoors for sun protection ONLY.

• No earrings other than studs or hoops no larger than 1/4 inch in diameter.

• Shoes must be closed at the heel and toe; no slip-ons, sandals, thongs, or “Uggs.”

• Shoes and boots may not have heels higher than 1 inch.

• Shirts may not expose a bare midriff.

• Shirts may not have spaghetti straps.

• Tank–tops, i.e. basketball jersey/athletic style tops with exaggerated armholes are not allowed without wearing a t-shirt under them.

• Shirts must fall below one’s waist.

• No logos deemed inappropriate by the faculty or staff

• No low-rise pants or shorts; pants and shorts must be worn at the waist.

• Shorts, skirts, and skorts must fall equal to or lower than the child’s own arm length.

• Underclothing must not be visible.
