History
1911 - Van Nuys first opened as a country school at the same year the Van Nuys town was founded.
1912 - Van Nuys school moved to four store rooms at Van Nuys Blvd. at Victory to accomodate the additional number of students. Also, the cornerstone for the school building was started.
1913 - The school building was occupied.
1914 - Los Angeles annexed Van Nuys and the school became a Los Angeles City School.
1923 - 5 bungalows were added to make enough space to house the thousand children who attended.
1933 - The school was demolished after the earthquake. Classes were moved out to half-day sessions in ten tents and three bungalows.
1934 - The corner stone of the school was laid.
1935 - Students and staff moved in.
1937 - Auditorium was built.

Van Nuys is a district in the San Fernando Valley region of the City of Los Angeles, California. The TV show Beverly Hills 90210 was filmed on a set in Van Nuys. Van Nuys is in the heart of the San Fernando Valley and home to about 100,000 people; the main thoroughfare, Van Nuys Boulevard, is noted for its car dealerships. It also functions similar to a "county seat" for the Valley, with its Government Center (Erwin Street Mall) containing a branch of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys police station, the Van Nuys offices for Los Angeles City Hall, Van Nuys State Office Building and a branch of the Los Angeles Public Library.
