Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies, also known as Sherman Oaks CES or SOCES, is a public school in the San Fernando Valley, Southern California, United States. The school campus is located in Erwin Street, Reseda, California on the former campus of Sequoia Middle School. It is considered as the largest magnet school in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school's colors are Burgundy and Grey, and the school mascot is the "Knights."

SOCES is a California Distinguished School at which students can stay from 4th through 12th grade. SOCES has an increasing number of successful sports teams, a Speech and Debate team, a highly successful Science Bowl program, and promising music and drama programs. In 2007 boys' soccer won the first Small Schools City Title at the City Section Championships.

1978 - Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies was established.

Prior to 1980 - The campus was located at the site of present-day Sherman Oaks Elementary School.

School Trivia

For many years, there was a large Sequoia log out in front of the school bearing the name of the school. After repeated vandalism (spray paint, chunks of the log stolen), it was finally replaced with a small stone sign. The charging knight is the school's mascot.

Reseda is a district in the San Fernando Valley of the City of Los Angeles, California. As of the 2000 census, there were 68,002 people (estimated 77,250 in 2006) and 22,811 households.
