San Pedro Street Elementary School is a public primary school located in South San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, California. It is situated in downtown Los Angeles, near the Garment District. San Pedro is considered as one of the oldest original site schools in the district. The school is part of Local District 5 of the Los Angeles Unified School District. It first opened its doors to the public way back in 1866 and is still currently serving pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. It follows a four-track school calendar. San Pedro has approximately 771 students, a great majority of which are Hispanic or Latino. 97% of the students are participating in free or reduced-price lunch program. Of the 80% English language learners, 100% use Spanish as their Home Language.
