Palms Elementary School is a public educational establishment located in Motor Avenue, Los Angeles, California. It is part of Local District 3 of the Los Angeles Unified School District. Palms Elementary first opened its doors to the public way back in 1915 and has since been educating students who are in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade levels. Palms follows a traditional single track school calendar and has approximately 480 students enrolled. The student body is predominantly comprised of Hispanic/Latino children accumulating for more than half of the population. Other ethnicities/races represented at Palms are African American (19%), Asian (8%), White (7%), Filipino (5%), American Indian/Alaska Native and Pacific Islander (both with less than 1%). Palms implements a variety of programs including School for Advanced Studies (SAS), YMCA, Para Los Niños, Drill Team, Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), Youth Services (YS), Arts Prototype, among others.
