Normandie Avenue Elementary School is a public primary school serving pre-kindergarten through 5th grade education under a four-track school calendar. Normandie Elementary is located in South Raymond Avenue, Los Angeles, California..just a short distance south of the Los Angeles Coliseum and USC. The ethnic make-up of the school's student body appears to be undergoing a transition in the direction of a majority Hispanic population. As of 2005-06, 70% of the enrollees are Hispanic while 30% are African Americans. The parents of these students also have been much involved as evidenced by parent representation at conferences, school performances, programs, meetings, and as volunteers. Normandie recognizes the importance of a strong partnership between parents, school and community. Normandie Avenue School is a community that promotes a learning environment in which all students will achieve to their highest potential.
