William Mulholland Middle School is a public middle school located in Vanowen Street, Van Nuys, California. Mulholland is part of Local District 1 of the Los Angeles Unified School District and serves grades 6 through 8 following a traditional single track school calendar. The school was opened back in 1963 and is now serving approximately 1800 students, majority of which are Hispanic or Latino. Other race/ethnicities of the enrollees are White, African American, Asian, Filipino, American Indian/Alaska Native and Pacific Islander. The school has a student-per-teacher ratio of 22. Mulholland Middle School provides a variety of academic programs including the Gifted Program, School for Advanced Studies (SAS), and California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJFS) and National Honor Society Recognitions. Mulholland has also been developing an Individualized Honors Program (IHP) to implement in 2007-2008. The school also has a wide variety of extra curricular enrichment programs anchored by Los Angeles All Stars (formerly Arnold’s All Stars). Average Class Size
