Los Angeles Academy Middle School is a public middle school located in Los Angeles, California just one block north of Slauson and approximately five blocks east of the Harbor 110 freeway in South Central Los Angeles. The main entrance to the school is on 56th Street, immediately east of Avalon. It is part of Local District 5 of the Los Angeles Unified School District and has been serving 6th through 8th graders since 1998. LAAMS follows a three track school calendar and serves approximately 3,000 students.


The school's objectives, as stated on its mission statement, is to provide students with equity and access to a rich and rigorous standards-based curriculum where they meet or exceed state standards.
