Loreto Street Elementary School is a public elementary school located just minutes from downtown Los Angeles, next to the Pasadena Freeway. A small year-round school, Loreto Elementary is part of Local District 5 of the Los Angeles Unified School District. It offers pre-kindergarten through 5th grade education.


The majority of Loreto's students come from immigrant families. Ninety percent of the student body is Latino, nine percent are Cantonese-speaking students. Ninety-five percent are Title One students and seventy-six percent are limited-English speakers. The school's students, also called the "Dolphins," are approximately 700 in number.
