Latona Avenue Elementary School is a public elementary school, originall founded in 1914 to serve an Italian/Irish Immigrant population and now serves primarily a Latino, Native American and Chinese Immigrant population. Part of Local District 5 of the Los Angeles Unified School District, Latona Elementary serves pre-kindergarten through 5th grade classes following a three-track school calendar. The school's programs include Title 1, Master-Plan (SEI), School Improvement and Special Education and the highly successful and innovative after-school program: L.A.'s Best.
