Henry T. Gage Middle School is a public middle school named after a former California Governor who was in service from 1899 to 1903. Located in Huntington Park, California, Gage Middle School is part of Local District 6 of the Los Angeles Unified School District serving children in the 6th through 8th grade under a three-track school calendar. As stated on the school's Vision statement, Gage aims to produce students that are "competent readers, effective writers, engaging speakers, and creative problem-solvers as they develop pride, respect, and self-worth through a meaningful and challenging education within a learning community."

History

Early 1920's - Gage Middle School, then known as Irvington Elementary School, opened its doors to pupils of the Huntington Park Community.

1932 - The school was renamed Henry T. Gage Elementary School in recognition of the 20th Governor of California, Henry Tifft Gage.

1951 - Gage School officially became a junior high school with a student population of 500.

1980 - Gage MS became a year-round school in 1980.

1984 - The school operates on a Concept-6 (three track) Calendar for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.
