The Fernangeles Elementary School is a public elementary school located in the new District 2, formerly the Polytechnic-North Hollywood Cluster in the north eastern portion of the East San Fernando Valley. Fernangeles is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District and is a charter member of the LEARN reform program in Los Angeles. Opened in 1946, the school offers pre-kindergarten through 5th grade education with classes that are both multi-age and traditional. Fernangeles is a large school, on a year-round calendar, with a population of approximately 66 faculty members and 1,100 students.

History
1946 - Fernangeles Elementary School opened.
1994 - Fernangeles Elementary became a Project MORE school.
1997 - Fernangeles applied for and received a Healthy Start-SB 620 Planning Grant.
1998 - Fernangeles applied for an Operational Grant as a member of the East Valley Healthy Start Consortium.
