The City of Angels School is a public school located in South San Pedro Street, Los Angeles that was founded in the early 90's. A member of the Los Angeles Unified School District, City of Angels follows a traditional calendar school year and provides a comprehensive, independent study alternative to traditional classroom instruction for students in grades Kindergarten through 12. Upon successful completion of all required classes through grade twelve, and after passing the California High School Exit Exam, students receive a L.A.U.S.D. High School Diploma at a traditional graduation ceremony in downtown Los Angeles.


School Statistics


Students at City of Angels benefit from one-on-one interaction with professionally trained certificated teachers, which are consist of 98% with full credentials and 1% with emergency credentials. The school also have the most experienced teachers in the district, who have been teaching for an average of 22 years. They also have a 21-year average years teaching in the district. Only 1% of the faculty are first year teachers.


The student body population is consist of approximately 2000 students. The racial/ethnic make-up of the school is 55% Hispanic or Latino, 22% African American, 18% White, 2% Asian, 2% Filipino, less than 1% American Indian/Alaskan, and less than 1% Pacific Islander.
