Atwater Avenue Elementary School is located at the corner of Atwater Avenue and Silverlake Blvd. in Atwater Village, Los Angeles, California. History
1922-23 - Atwater Avenue School was founded in September, opening their doors to 200 students. At that same year, the Atwater PTA was formed.
1923-24 - The Atwater School building was opened.
1926 - School Enrollees increased four-fold as they started offering grades K to 8. The school was also instrumental during World War II as it was the site for draft registration.
1971 - First building was damaged in the Sylmar Earthquake. It was eventually taken down.
1977 - In the 5th of May, a new building was constructed and the address of the school also changed from 3275 Atwater Avenue to 3271 Silverlake Blvd.
