Tenth Street Elementary School is a public primary school located near the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, specifically in 1000 Grattan Street, Los Angeles, California. Established in 1888, Tenth Street Elementary is one of fifty-two schools that make up Local District F of the Los Angeles Unified School District. This urban school teaches children in 1st through 5th grade following a four-track school calendar.


The "Home of the Eagles" was home to 1,289 students in the 2005-06 school year, mostly residents from the Pico-Union community. A vast of majority of the school's enrollees are of Hispanic, Latino descent. 96% of these students are participating in free or reduced-price lunch program; and also, of the school's 79% English language learners, approximately 99% speak Spanish at home, while the rest use Korean, Vietnamese and Filipino as their home language.

1] From Pasadena Fwy, head northeast on CA-110 N.

2] Take exit 27 for Ave 43 then a sharp left at E Avenue 43.
